Product Description

Barpimo Wood Paint (Barpidecor) is a fantastic wood paint/treatment from Spain. It is a water-resistant and water-based protective coating based on acrylic resins in aqueous dispersion and active agents. Barpidecor provides embellishment and deep protection of wood against damp, bad weather and UV sun rays, making it ideal for exterior use on wooden furniture, sheds and fences, as well as being suitable for indoor use.

Technical Data

• Finish: Matt to semi-matt, depending on absorption of the wood

• Touch Dry: 30-60 minutes, depending on the type of wood and the atmospheric conditions

• Recoatable: 4-6 hours

• Yield: 10-12 m²/ l per coat, depending on the state and type of surface

• Shelf Life: Up to 1 year unopened in original packaging, at normal temperature and humidity. Store in places protected against frost

Surface Preparation

On unprotected surfaces

Clean, sand and eliminate dust, grease, oil, wax, small imperfections etc.

 

On old or deteriorated varnish surfaces

• Eliminate these layers and proceed as before. Apply Barpidecor Fondo primer as a complement to the treatment

• Apply 3 or 4 coats, depending on the way it faces and the atmospheric conditions to which the surface is exposed

• On tropical wood, first apply 1-2 coats of Tropical Wood Insulating Sealer (Ref. 16860) depending on the type of wood. Contact us for advice

• Renewing protective treatment does not require any scraping or sanding, only cleaning of dust, grease, oil, etc.

 

Application & Thinning

Refer to the product Safety and Data Sheets prior to use.

• Stir the contents of the pot well. Apply in thin, even, well-spread coats

• Apply using a round brush, immersion or spray gun: as supplied in the container or slightly diluted with water. Immersion time of 4-6 minutes

Note: Colourless paint - only use to renovate wood already treated with Barpimo Wood Paint (Barpidecor) colour or to lighten other shades. Do not use alone for outdoors

 

Limitations

• Application not advisable for wood with high moisture content, above 20%

• Do not apply in temperatures below 5ºC

• Do not store opened or started containers

• Clean tools with water immediately after use

 

Safety

• Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects

• Causes serious eye irritation

• Causes skin irritation

• If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand

• Keep out of reach of children

• Wash thoroughly after handling

• Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection

• If product comes into contact with skin or eyes: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and safe to do so. Continue rinsing and seek medical advice

• If product is ingested or inhaled seek medical advice. Do not induce vomiting

• Dispose of the contents/containers in accordance with the current legislation on waste treatment
